Using sat nav for bicycle and I have to say that Kerry is being very patient. Yesterday morning we set off from the b&b and travelled down a steep hill then turned sharp left up a very steep hill, then turned left and found ourselves just opposite the b&b.....today did something similar but after 5 minutes of cycling in circles we were off and away climbing the steep hill out of Monmouth. We passed some people on a tandem who were doing the same cycle. Unfortunately their chain had broken so they were heading back into Monmouth to find a bicycle repair shop.
Been very cloudy all day - gather Devon was in sunshine?- but good conditions for cycling.
The route took us along minor roads and out of Wales to Wormelow Tump (yes really), Callow and on into Hereford. An elite cyclist shot past us in Hereford in a flash of yellow. He had stopped at Canon Pyon for a rest and was there when we arrived. It turned out he was 73 and on his way to John O'Groats as well! He was a hardened cyclist and moulded to his bike. His legs were golden brown walnuts. Amazing!
Then we headed in to Ludlow for a bite to eat before the final bit of our journey. We were met at Cardington by Dad who was on a very old bicycle which had only a few working gears....he had cycled up hill and down dale to meet us - what a fantastic surprise!! I swapped bikes with Dad for the last bit of the journey home as I was concerned for his safety and with my knees under my chin and sensation of sitting on a stone wall we continued on.
Now just had a hot bath and mum is cooking Marinated Turkey Breast with cumin, coriander and white wine and also a Potato and Rocket Salad.... And 2 loaves of home baked bread.. Thanks Mum!
Ps meringues indirectly via Peter..

Peter Yes, I think I made too much custard so lots of egg whites - wait is that possible 'too much custard'?
Peter OK another Einstein quote for you: "I thought of that while riding my bicycle."
Sarah kelly We have enjoyed the meringues. In fact mum brought a second lot of small meringues out after we had eaten the pavlova ...
Sarah Dunn Well done! You seem to be riding faster than us! Good idea- less time in that saddle! I have taken out shares in Sudacrem! Keep going. You will grow to love it! It gets better and better.
