Day 1
Very easy and scenic cycling to Penzance. We were very excited at the prospect of our adventure!
The views of St Michael's Mount were stunning as we cycled around the bay. The old Victorian lido looked grand with it's flags flying. Then on through little Cornish villages with colourful cottages. We left the coast and cut inland along a multitude of country lanes, baking in the sunshine. Hedgerows smelt sweet as we passed Porkellis and Rame. A short trip on the King Harry Ferry helped us on our way to St Austell. Very near to where Fergus was born!! Had to take a photo of the Dominoes Pizza where we ate shortly after meeting Fergus for the first time.
After St Austell, we followed the coast around through Par and then on to Fowey, our final destination of the day.
64 miles, feeling good.
