Tuesday :
Unlike the early rise yesterday we slept in today, we left the hotel with no time for breakfast before we met with our guide back at the travel agent. Nice fella Surya is, full of smiles and laughs. I'll get more details later, main thing is he speaks English really well. We also organized our trekking permits and Annapurna conservation passes, hopefully Surya brings them out to Pokhara in a couple days time and we don't get stung.
After the meeting instead of having breakfast it was more like lunch. We chose a familiar place and had some U beaut iced coffees.
We were in no rush so we hung around the restaurant for a bit, then Kim went back pack shopping. She picked up a nice pink one for the trek, let's spin some prayer wheels and see if it lasts the walk.
After bags shopping we needed to go back to the laundry where we pickup our clothes yesty. There was one shirt missing, nice one to. Damn the laundries closed, ah well I'll have to chase it up when I get back in town. I won't hold my breathe on seeing it again though.
Well seeing how we have some plans now, I'd guess we had better pay a visit to our friend ATM. Not!! I hate him.
Also seeing how I'm down a shirt id suppose I should better go try and find another one. On the everest trek I had a problem, I was sweating heaps as usual but then the cold wind would make me very cold. So I paid a bit extra for proper quick dry shirts to see if they help. I also bought a new hat with the Nepalese flag on it, should get some brownie points with it off the locals.
A shock back at the hotel though which had the potential to ruin all our plans. The hotels reception said that the couldn't get any bus tickets for Pokhara tomorrow. Even though I have been chasing tickets for three days now. I let reception know how I felt about the effort. Then left to go on the hunt for two bus tickets 14 hrs before the bus left tomorrow.
I went back to our travel agent but he was busy with clients and said to come back in 30min and he would have an answer. In the mean time I went and tried my luck with another agent (there are plenty here) and bingo got some. They're cabin seat? He said they're position behind the driver, and I'm lucky to get these tix at all with the festival on. Sounds interesting and I must read up on this festival, sounds like the whole country is on the move.
All good we got tickets and the plan is still a gower. I went and told our agent not to bother about his tickets and got a haircut on the way back to the hotel.
The hairdresser tried to get more money out of me than we agreed on too. By starting a back massage after the haircut. I remember reading about this scam, what they do is cut your hair, then give you a massage afterwards. Then demand more money because of the massage without telling you cost after the haircut. I told him what type of person he was too, haha, been a big day of telling people off.
Got back to the hotel and it was dinner time. Also found out that reception had bus tickets now, ha! why is it that you need to blast people before they pull their finger out? Never mind we left the hotel and went to a different restaurant tonight, one that we noticed on our backstreet walks. Very good too and cheap.
After dinner we did some breakfast shopping and bus food shopping. Up early tomorrow for the bus ride so breaky is going to be in our room. Nothing is open early in the morning here because everyone is up so late.
We got back to our room and tried to pack all our bags up, gwizz they're getting full now.
