Thursday - sunny
I had a good sleep according to Kim, I kept her up all night with my breathing. She still was kind enough to help strap up my toes for the walk today.
When we were ready, we went down for breakfast. We got told that we weren't leaving until 10am and we could go walk about the town until then.
We were in Namche so it was good town for some proper coffee. The four of us found a nice coffee shop and sat out in the sun. Jordan and Niss went looking for a painting and I went to go take some photos because the mountains were out.
I was the last person back at the lodge, and the group was ready to rock and roll. We hit the track, first up was the big 600m decent. The feet felt fine today, they must off dried and hardened up over night.
There were a few more Trekkers and porters on the track today, making their way up. Today we are heading back to Phakding, and there are a lot of suspension bridges along this section of track, and at times crossing the bridges was quite busy.
We stopped for lunch and I aired out my feet. Jordan and I also tried to learn some card tricks from Naboo while we waited for our food.
It was another decent length walk today, it was 5hrs including lunch by the time we got back to Naboo's families lodge.
We all had a chat before eventually heading to our rooms. No power in the rooms yet, Kim a I got our things ready for bed and got cleaned up then went down to the dining room.
Dinner wasn't for awhile, but soon everyone was back down in the dining room, probably because of the no power. It didn't take much convincing by Naboo to get us to go out for a drink after dinner. He said it's his friends bars opening night, and he would get the drinks discounted for us. We were all keen.
I had a great potato salad and beers for dinner tonight. Then when we were ready we went to liquid bar. I remember this place being built last time we were here. Not a bad place, it was built under our lodge with a big natural rock feature wall at the back. All timber and plywood bar, walls and chairs, they make anything with plywood here.
There was a good mixture of locals and of our group after awhile. The music didn't get turned down the later it got either. If anything it got louder, and more of the locals started to dance. The older locals dance very similar to aborigines, it looks like a few were imitating birds. A couple younger fellas were our porters and busted out with some break dancing, which was entertaining.
It was a good night, we all had fun and had plenty of laughs. Jordan protected a kitten from a very rough playing girl for most of the night too.
It was very close to midnight when we left liquid bar Phakding. We got a back to the rooms and I tried to hit the hay. The beers hit me tonight its been a couple months since I've had a night on the town.
