Wednesday : sunny
We scoffed down breaky and checked out quick smart then made our way to the bus stop. Wow now that's a lot of busses to sort through. We got to the last three busses and lucky us they were ours.
Ha there was no room for our bags under the bus, so on the roof with ye. Thankfully we have insurance.
Off we go and our seats you could say are in the cockpit of the bus. All the busses are the same, they have this section of wall dividing the cabin from the rest of the bus like a plane or train, weird.
Still we did not only see all but bags on the roof of the busses, we saw goats, heaps of people, looked like someone was moving house there were beds and coat racks too.
It took seven hours to get to Pokhara, it was the slowest moving bus but I wouldn't of guessed the trip took seven hours. Maybe because of all the stops where we got out and walked around. One stop was very nice, huge mountains behind the restaurant and Kim and I had some fried rice and ice blocks. There probably was Nepal's only chairlift there too, I think it was to take mountain bikers up to the top. Then they ride back down, ah silly mountain bikers don't they know that the best part of riding is the hill climb. Suppose it wouldn't be that fun on a pushy.
Once we arrived we took a taxi to the hotel, but it was full so we walked down the road and found one that wasn't. We rested there a bit, before heading out for some food and drinks, Kim managed to finish her new book already too good girl.
We just went to the restaurant next door, and what a view. The peaks came out just as the sun went down over the lake.
Nice town this, very laid back, we called our guide and agent after dinner letting them know were we are staying and we will see him in a couple days.
Then we went to organize a sleeping bag rental for the trek, all good 70cents per day.
Then we had a couple hour night walk around town. Checking out the shops especially the art shops, we are really looking at buying a couple paintings.
On the way back we picked up a juice and chocolate for the movie back in the room. Which was shutter island, not much planned for tomorrow. Maybe go for a kayak out on the lake and walk about the town some more.
