Monday : sunny
Today we had a good sleep and we were off to an early start. We tried a different place today for breakfast, and the coffee was just as good as yesterday's.
On the way to pick up our clothes from the laundry we had a ice-cream at Baskin & Robbins. Mmm breakfast ice-cream, but the laundry was closed for Nepal's festival. we will have to come back later today to see if its just had a lazy start.
Not to sure what the festival on here is about, but so far what I can understand is they light up a lot of incense, candles, close shops and go home to spend time with their families.
Walking around today we took a few new back streets I quite like this part of the city. Don't know how some of these shops stay open though, they are so small and so many of the same items for sale.
We haven't planned anything for today, just read and plan our next move from here. That's pretty much what we did too, I read lonely planet and Kim read a book she bought earlier today on our walk.
Quite a few hours went by and it was late afternoon by the time we left the hotel to go try and pickup up our clothes again. Lucky this time it was open, 10kgs of washing for $6.
We went back to the hotel and did a quick drop off of our laundry, and then went to go get some info from a tourism company about our next trek and jungle safari.
We found a decent place and we were there for quite some time. We need to come back tomorrow to meet a potential guide for our Annapurna trek.
It was time for dinner when we left, and we went back to old faithful revolution cafe for a feed. Tonight was a reduced menu due to the festival, only Nepalese food. Thats fine dal baht for us it is, dal baht is rice curry, we had it with chicken and veggies also.
After dinner we went back to the our hotel to do some more reading. Think we are all set though.
