Got up and had some brekkie then went ot Travel Bugs. Needed to check with Tom about how many hours I would be getting etc - wasn't too happy about the gap between the last tiem I worked and Monday, as I was paying for accomodation and not making any money back! Was really thinking about moving on from Airlie Beach as I had been there two weeks and was only staying for the potential work. Knew if I was to move on I would want to do it asap so I could catch up with Team Travel but we decided I should wait to at least talk it through with Bucko then I could see what he had to say. Asked if there was any chance I could work that day and he rang Bucko who said I could work and be paid for it but we had to make the money back on internet fees, so there was a challenge. Was so happy that i had been given a shift though, finally a paid one too! Didnt have work till 2 so went to the room and met the 3 Essex girls. We all went to Peter Pans for the internet then Natalie left to fly home! She really didn't want to go! After she left I popped back to Peter Pans as I saw they were looking for someone - was worth an ask! The girl was lovely and offered me work straight away..... but you were paid $10 an hour in "travel points" to spend in the shop, so not worth it at all! minimum wage is $18 anyway! So gave that one a miss, looked round a few shops then met the girls at the lagoon. Sunbathed but it got pretty chilly! Went and got some lunch and got changed then went to Beaches to use the phone - Mike's birthday!! had to rng before work which made it half 4 English time, but I didnt know if he'd be working and I didn't want to miss him! had a quick, sleep chat and turns out he wasn't working, oops! So arranged to Skype him when I finished work :-) Work was pretty good! Really chilled out and hardly ANYONE was walking past the shop so I couldnt really do anything - so just chatted to Tom. again it really dragged out but I got $45 for the 3 hour shift (shame I had to spend it on 2 nights accom straight after though!) Tom was saying ti wouldn't be that chilled out if Bucko was there, apparently he is pretty strict! And no idea why everywhere was so quiet! Tried to ask for work the next day but wasn't happening which is a shame. Went straight to Beaches after work and Skyped Mike then chatetd to him on the phone (way cheaper!) which was lovely :-) Went back to the room and Team Travel were back!! They had made sure they were back in the same room so they could be with me which was lovely :-) They had had a great trip, chatted to them for a bit then I went and cooked dinner as they were eating out. Got ready to go out then meet back up with the girls and went to Beaches - it was meant to be their after boat drinks but no one had arranged them! So they didnt get there free drinks which was a shame. played some drinking games in there and then Emma went up to play musical chairs and she won! Amy worked her magic and bumped up the prize of one jug to 3, so we got 3 jugs of Raspberry, Vodka and Lemonade (my drink of choice in Oz - when I'm not on the goon!) . The guy had asked Emma what prize she wanted, offering a boat trip which she couldn't do because she was leaving the next morning.... I said i would happily take a boat trip, not thinking I would get it and he ofcourse said I couldn't because I didn't win.... but when I reminded him I had sang the week before, he remembered me and said he would see what he could do. Didn't see him for a while and assumed he hadn't bothered, but he came back with a prize voucher for a day trip on a boat called the Camira!! Was hard to tell from the voucher what it would be like but I was sooo pleased! Meant I would get to see the Whitsunday's again! And this boat was a full day, all inclusive, lunch and snacks, free snorkeling gear and a visit to Whitehaven! So that was awesome :-D We went down to Phoenix bar after and danced away in there, bumped into Alex and the rest of the guys he is with who I keep seeing up the East Coast! Such funny guys, not afraid to go all out dancing wise and always up for a laugh. Alex feels like my big bro! I left at about 11.30 because I said I would head back and say bye to the Essex girls who were getting a midnight bus - lucky I rang them because they had left early so I would have gone back for no reason! So went back into Phoenix for a bit then all headed down to Mama Africa. no one wanted to pay so as we all turned around the guy let us in for free, woo! Mama was better than it had been other nights and we danced in there for ages, the girls are such good fun. They left as they had an early start and I stayed with the guys, ended up staying till it shut at 5! So got to bed really late (early??) and was sooo tired! My eye had been pretty sore so was good to be in bed, although it wasn't long until the girls half 6 alarms went off and I had made them promise they'd wake me up so I could say bye!
