Woke up soo nicely to a beautiful song (still have to find out what it was!). there was a bit fo a queue for the loo to get changed, then it was breakfast! Cereal, fruit salad, bread, tea, coffee to pick from, and plenty to go round! We all went and sat up top to eat which was nice until it started to rain - a lot! Thought it wouldn't last long as it doesn't usually out here, but I was so wrong. We were told we would be sailing to Whitehaven beach so we went and got our sexy yellow rain coats on (which did NOTHING to stop us getting soaked!) and sat along the edge of the baot like we had before. Went along fairly gently for a while then would be told we would be going into "attack" mode. The boat was on a massive slant and we all had to move into the center seating area. There was just a pile of us all in our yellow coats! We then had to climb onto the other side of the boat (easier said than done, especially as the deck was so slippy from the rain!) and sit along the edge as they changed the direction so we were now tilted the other way. When we were in "attack" mode we were going really fast and getting hit by some huge waves! Then, the rain SUDDENLY got soo heavy like in a storm! It was windy and the boat was really rocky. Some people didn't like it but I thought it was pretty exciting, despite the fact I was absolutley frozen, soaked and couldnt open my eyes for the wind and the rain! It was definately an experience though! Even if I could have opened my eyes, there wouldn't have been much to see as the rain was so heavy and it was a really grey day - could have been anywhere! That was a real shame as I still dont feel I have properly seen the islands. it really would have been incredible if the sun was shining. The thrill wore off after a while, then thankfully we got to go back inside! I was really, really cold and couldnt warm up for ages. Keep feeling really really cold when no one else is, am wondering if it is to do with my dodgy circulation. We got to our next lcation, Tounge Bay, the gateway to Whitehaven Beach! Whitehaven beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world and it often voted in the top 3!! The sand is 98% silica, so very pure and really white! The water is super clear and a beautiful colour and the beach is surrounder by forest. It was the setting for the film Fool's Gold, which I will definately have to watch when I get home! We walked through the forest to a viewing point. We were lucky as it stopped raining - it was still cloudy and grey but it was also still a beautiful view despite this - looked surreal. I would love to go back on a sunny day because even in the rubbish weather I was blown away! As it had been raining so much I hadn't taken my camera - seemed like a good idea at the time as I have been so unlucky with technology, but REALLY regret not taking it :-( The photos would have been awesome. What a numpty. I do have the awesome memories though which I wont forget quickly and I think the postcarda are pretty accurate so I will have to buy some! Enjoyed the view then headed down to the beach! There was only one other small group on the whole beach which Will said was pretty unusual so that was really cool! We went over to a perfect hidden little private beach, with rocks to sit/lay on, palm tress, the white sand... it was perfect! Went for a swim (in our sexy stinger suits!) and even the waves were perfect for splashing around in! Really big and frothey, so glad I went for a swim. Sat in the water enjoying the view, felt surreal how perfect it was. Felt like i was in a film! We all climbed some rocks that seperated our private beach from the main beach. Got a great view from the rocks, then headed over to the main beach where Will was hoping to show us some stingrays - we didnt get to see any which was a shame but it was a nice walk. I say Alex get off the day trip boat he was on! Wanted to shout to him but didn't know if he would here me, and didnt feel like running across the beach in my stinger suit! It wasnt the right setting for a scary movie after all! Headed back to the private beach abd most people laid in the sun. I went and sat against a rock that was in shallow water - it was so nice. Hannah and Laura, two lovely lovely girls came and joined me and we sat chatting then went for a bit of a swim. They went to sunbathe and I strolled along the beach and explored some rocks - wanted to take it all in! again, was gutted I hadn't taken my camera! It was a shame it wasn't sunny but at least it wasn't raining while we were there :-) Walked back to tounge bay and got taken back to The Broomstick in 2 groups. I was in the first boat and we saw a turtle in the sea! That was pretty cool :-) Took a while to get back as the sea was getting really choppy. When we got back me and Anna both felt seasick :-( I tried to ignore it and was sat with everyone on deck trying to zone out - I ended up falling asleep! Woke up when the boat jerked me backwards - everyone was laughing! they had all been wacthing me - apparently I had looked really funny, like when someone sleeps in the car and their head rolls around :-p Will tied a rope around me in case I fell out the boat which made everyone laugh. I still wasnt quite with it though and fell straight to sleep! Hadn't realized some people were having naps inside - would have made a lot more sense! Had lunch - salad rolls - and I looked after Ann who was still feeling really sick. Got her some lunch and sat with her for a while. Fell asleep AGAIN on deck so headed inside. The rain staretd to pour down again so everyone huddled inside. There was the option to go snorkling but only about half went. I couldnt decide but when I found out I could go the next morning I decided I would do that. Laid on my bed and drafted some blogs and got showered and in my warm clothes for the evening. It was already getting cold and I knew I had done the right thing not going out - my hair would never have dried and sleeping with wet hair sucks when you're cold anyway! People were out snorkling for about 45 mins, the there was bad visability but they saw a tutle which is really cool. when they got back in there were nachos and cheese and salsa for eveyone - I'm not normally a nacho fan but they were delicious! Everyone got in and showered and we were all chilling out downstairs as it was still pouring with rain. I sat with the lovely girls form Israel and we read my magazine. the crew made the sail into a roof outsdie and anchored us for the night. Then it was dinner time! Was sooo good! Steak, salad, potato salad... soo yummy! We all sat outside to eat under the roof then stayed out there chatting and saw the coolest thing - a dolphin was swimming by our boat!! It was right by the edge, in the light, and was chasing fish! It was beautiful :-) As you can imagine on a boat full of girls, we were pretty excited! Carried on chatting after watching her then we heard a "plop" - a squid had lept onto our boat! It looked soo weird, translucent, massive eyes and it had inked on the boat! Will washed it back into the sea, hope it was ok! Was pretty funny. Was an impressive leap! People were drifting off to bed and I followed. Was one of the last to go in, everyone had gone to bed earlier than I had expected but I guess it had been a long day! Slept a bit better than I had the night before :-)
