25th June till 8th July
Gday peeps!
Well important congrats go to Lucy and Neil on the birth of Joshua Daniel, very exciting, can't wait to see him but photos are good for the time being and he is gorgeous!
Well another couple of quiet weeks I'm afraid, just on countdown now! Worked Monday to Friday last two weeks, feel like I'm a 9-5 person! Did nothing the first week, the only day we did something interesting was Sunday, (well that I can remember anyway!). Went to The Rocks market and then had a walk around, had lunch in the city and got the ferry to Lavender bay which is on the other side of the harbour. Had read that it is a good view of the bridge and city at night, we got there a bit early however but waited till dusk, I thought views were worth the wait, Paul liked the views but don't think he thought it was worth the wait! Had dinner at The Ice bar restaurant before heading home.
Last week didn't do that much more! It was sunny and actually quite warm throughout the week, not any good to me at work though! I did make the most of it on Tuesday before going to work, it was rather hot and without a cloud in the sky so went to Coo gee beach. Had a walk around and took some photos of the wonderful place. Also spotted the Australian rugby team, 'The Wallabies' all running in and out of the sea, not a bad view either!
Paul had a couple of good days at work, Wednesday he worked on this tower in the city, it is shaped like the Eiffel tower but is offices, they went to the roof top which had good views. Then Thursday he was working in the city on a balcony with views of the harbour and watched the US war ship, the 'Kitty Hawk' come into dock in the harbour. Its huge, some stats to prove this, its 321m long, 61m high and weighs 80,000 tonnes. It has 75 fighter jets and aircraft on deck and is the talk of the nurses as has 5300 crew who are all in Sydney for the week!
At work I have been promoted to resus, this is after the week before spending 3 days in the boring observation ward. I think they listened to my moaning! Resus wasn't very exciting anyway but at least they have finally put me there, even if its with only 3 weeks left! So Friday was in there and at lunch went out for dinner to a Thai, I bought a sandwich! It was Rachael's last day, one of the English girls. It was all very nice, had choc mud cake too. Friday night went to the hospital local, the royal for Rachael's leaving night. Had flaming sambuccas which nearly set the table alight and got told off by the bouncer who also asked us if we realised this was illegal! Was good fun though but got far too drunk, don't think I was too embarrassing but Saturday felt like dying.
Had viewings on the flat at 1300 which did not feel like, especially since Paul was doing a private job with Jim. It was cringable anyway with these people traipsing through with the real estate agent, only from 13-1330 though. However I had spent the morning throwing up between cleaning. So went back to bed after that, got up for an hour later and then went back to bed very poorly sick again! Wine and Laura so don't mix!
Sunday went to Stuarts with Paul and Jim. We went to the city first and bought baby Joshua a vest and then tried to get a look a the Kitty Hawk, got a glimpse but the traffic was ridiculous so gave up! Had a nice afternoon there and had homemade pizza for dinner! Spoke about going skiing for Stuarts 40th on Sept 1st, there is loads of snow, one of the best seasons ever in New South Wales, only 6hrs drive. It would mean that we would have to put our flights back a week but would be cool to ski in Oz as am not keen on returning in winter again! Anyway all just talk at mo but would be cool. Nothing else has changed, had good news from our tenants who seem keen to stay till after Christmas which would give us chance to get back on our feet, contract runs out in September so hope they wont change their mind!
Alex hope you had a good time in Croatia and your hangovers weren't as bad as mine!
LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL LOADS LAURA AND PAULXXXXXXXXXX
will put my wonderful photos on tomorrowxx
