MONDAY 25TH JUNE
GDAY England,
Well looks like we are all getting a bit wet ay?!, just saw the English rain on the news, quite bad isn't it. Don't wish floods on you but cant say were too upset that you're not basking in sunshine! Its still raining here although had a couple of blue sky days. Both of us worked all week which was fine as nice to have all weekend off.
Friday night were meant to be going out with Jim but fell through so spent the night in. Saturday it was lovely bright blue skies, not quite sunbathing weather but looked good. Went to Paddington market, this time in the sunshine, quite a cool place but didn't buy anything. We then got the bus to Bondi and bought a nice warm hoodie with Bondi on it, the only problem is I'm too embarrassed to wear it here! Will be good for the cold in New Zealand though! We had lunch at Iceburgs, (the place that overlooks Bondi beach). This place is always nice, the waves were huge and spent the time watching them and these 3 teenagers sitting on the edge of the icebergs sea pool waiting for a massive wave to come over them and knock them in the pool, quite entertaining but guess you had to be there! Afterwards much to Paul's disgust we embarked on the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk as I've done it twice and Paul's once but not together. Enjoyed it though and the size of the waves entertained us along the way. Saw a couple of sea blows from whales but they were so far away, knew it was whales as there was two sightseeing boats next to where the water came up. Saturday night we went to the pub as two of the blokes from work were leaving, thought should make an effort. Dragged Jim along so Paul had someone to talk to, was quite cringable when we got there as no one was there, thank god we bought Jim for Paul to play pool with. Got a bit better but left early as Jim wanted to go and so did we really. Sods law it got better after we left and they were all in there till 0500!
0500 wouldn't have been any good for the boys however as Sunday morning the boys played golf at 0700. Unfortunately for them it was a bit drizzly but didn't stop them. Paul borrowed Jims clubs so he was relieved not to have to use some rubbish hire ones. He said the ocean views were really cool but was disappointed it was an easy course (PAR 3). Sunday we had Stu's/Jim's truck, went to Bondi market which was similar to Paddington but had never been to this one. We then had lunch at Bronte beach, sun was out and was really nice. There are a row of cool cafes that all have a funky feel overlooking the beach, food was good too. I had a tuna wrap, my how my eating habits are improving! Drove along the coast a bit, admiring the even bigger waves before going to Centennial park. Wanted to find the black cockatoos that we saw when on our bike ride without the camera but didn't find any. Did however see lots of black swans, white cockatoos and pelicans, God those things are huge, their beaks so big they don't look real. Were going to go cinema that night but instead opted for big brother double eviction (Oz of course) how sad are we!
So that wasn't a very exciting week was it, but had a nice relaxing weekend. Our time in Sydney is fast running out and no offence to you lot but am really gutted. Feel like I need longer and want another Sydney summer. The place is just soooo cool, how can I replace the beaches of Bronte/Coogee etc with Folkstone! Were already planning our holidays back, don't worry only holidays. At the same time though cannot wait to come home and see everyone especially the babies!
Got another week of working all week then off the weekend again so looking forward to that. Looks like we will have to stick worth going to Vegas in USA as cant change it to NYC without paying lots of money so we are planning to go to Grand Canyon.
Will keep you updated, Kate glad you had a good 25th birthday and liked your pressies, hope you have a well deserved 25th yearxxxxxxxxxx
