Monday 5th March
Hi happy campers, hope youre week has been good and the weather not to miserable. We both spent monday to thursday working and were very boring and didnt bother doing anything else. Friday Paul wasnt required at work which suited us as i was also off. We decided tot go to taronga zoo. To get there tou get the ferry from circular quay (the opera house / bridge area), so that in itself is good with the views. At the other side we got a cable car that led to the zoo, that was cool as it went right over the zoo and also had good views of the harbour. The zoo is on the harbours edge but oppisite the bridge and the opera house and up high so you could see the sights as you walked round the zoo. We had our photos taken with koalas by paying to go in where they were but werent alound to touch them. There was also a joey that was being raised in a ruck sac as its mother couldnt look after it. The zoo was cool and you could see all the animals clearly. For lunch we ate at this restaurant called treetops, it again had good harbour views, it was also next to a big tree full of birds like cookabarras and rainbow lorikeets(parrots) which came and sat on the balconey. The weather was also good so we had a very good day. Saturday we went to coogee beach, it was very hot and i managed to burn my legs and paul got a red strip accross his back. We then met Mag, John and Jenny for lunch at coogee. They came back to the flat and we all went to mardi gras. I dont know how Mag convinced John , especially as we got there at 16:00 to stake our spot and it wasnt due to start till 19:45. There were already loads of poeple there but we got the front spot. Got some wine and some beers and plastic cups. There were loads of the parade participants continuously walking up the road, they kept us entertained , ladyboys, transvestites etc etc. At 18:00 they started having some entertainment then, the parade started, it was led by dykes on bikes. The parade was full of transvestites and near naked poeple, lots of fit gay blokes. Ther was a Kylie parade with a Kylie float and Kylie dancers and loads more. It was very good but quite long, was only meant th last 90 mins but was 3 hours, Paul was done after the first hour! It was a good job we got there early though as we wouldnt have been able to see as there were loads of poeplr there. There was a boy george gig after but we didnt fancy it and tickets were abit much. Sunday i worked in afternoon, wasted the morning moaning about having to work too much but im over it now. So that was our week, most of it working but have a long weekend soon and the last week off in march which will be good. Have also got dial up internet which is very exciting. Have a good one, love and miss you loads
