I really enjoy being able to have a leisurely breakfast on the days off I have (i.e. when I'm eating sat at a table, not looking over my shoulder for Dave to come and catch me eating) so this morning's peanut butter and banana sandwich was more enjoyable than it normally would. I was trying to think of something to do that wasn't just watching a film at the hostel on my day off, and the ideas I had were playing French cricket with the cricket set in the common room (although it is raining) and going to the fashion outlet place to get cheap flip-flops. Alice feels ill though and just wanted to rest before her trial tomorrow, so we watched The Hunger Games, which I actually enjoyed more than reading the book.
Adam (entertainments guy) connected his laptop to the TV and showed us some very amusing videos; I really liked the 'true facts about' videos, which were facts about different animals, like tarsiers, sloths and chameleons, and the Louis CK (a comedian) videos.
Facts I learnt and remembered at the trivia night this week are that national geographic reckon gingers will be extinct by 2060 (we had to guess out of homosexual giraffes, gingers and something else which would be extinct, and we may have got the answer right if we hadn't had a ginger, Tom from London, on our team!)and Olympic gold medals only contain 1.34% gold. Some girls from London were very lairy and started a fight with some Dutch girls, also staying at our hostel. As far as I could see it was unprovoked, and considering it was only about 9.30, it was a bad start to the evening! We had far more pizza than we usually get; about 6 between 20 of us. We came back and had some drinks at the hostel. The hostel next door to us, Wooduck backpackers, started water bombing us, so we sprayed our hose over the fence at them.
