My Camino Journey
This morning we were up and out on the road by 7am again, we got a light breakfast in the Albergue of toast and coffee and also got to chat to Sonia and Phil, hopefully we would meet then again and maybe have dinner or something when we got to Fromista. This mornings sunrise was beautiful and certainly made up for the fact there wasn't really one yesterday, as the sun was coming up we were walking a steep hill, stopping every few meters taking loads of pictures as the colours in the sky were constantly changing. By the time we hit the top the sun was fully up, and as we made it down the other side we had the spectacular view of the sunlight running over the hill and into the fields below, it was truly a magical thing to see. After this hill climb the rest of the day was fairly flat, we have started to cross the Meseta which is know as the flat dry and hot part of the Camino, lucky today was only 20 degrees and not 40... As there was not a lot of shade available. At our first break point Rodney also arrived and then walked the rest of the way to Fromista with us. Rodney is an accountant from Sydney and has done the Camino back in 2014... He is lovely but talks..... A lot, and most of his stories start with, 2 years ago when I did the Camino the first time...... They were always interesting stories but after a while you just really wish he had a mute button haha We made it Fromista by 1pm and found beds in the municipal Albergue without any problems. Showered and fresh as a daisy we walked into town to the one place that was open and go something to eat and drink, of course Sonia and Phil were already there and that is where we stayed for the rest of the day until 7pm when it started getting colder and we decided that we should all go back to our rooms and start getting settled in for the night. I have spent the last hour updating my blog so hopefully I can post something soon, I haven't had the best internet the last couple of days and haven't been able to post much on Facebook r this blog....
