We only have a few more days here before we move on, will be glad of a change of scenery!
Yesterday we hired a boat for the day and bought a couple of cheese croissants from the nice little bakery around the corner and some yaks cheese for a picnic on the lake. It was very warm today so it was nice to get on the shade on the forest side of the lake . We rowed or actually Ray rowed the boat as he likes to think that he is Ray Mears around the Temple island, in search of the big fish that we saw yesterday morning, but alas they were nowhere to be seen.
Last night there was some really cool guys busking with drums, guitar and didgeridoo. A large crowd gathered with traffic passing by stopping and blocking the same road, but no one seemed bothered,. In England we would have all been moved on.
Today had to visit the bank to see if there are any ATMs in the next places we visit, apparently only Lumbini will have some which is a b***** as it means carrying more cash. than l would like! I have paid for all the accommodation already except for Chitwan where they only except cash payments, so hope l take enough or might get fed to the animals lol.
The weather is really warming up now, would love to wear my sandals for walking but there is so much dust, poo and rough ground that l am sticking to my trainers.
Decide to visit Devis Fall, a water fall but it is not the ideal time as there is not much water coming from the mountains. We saw a fellow tourist dressed in the most bright outfit like something a children's tv presenter would wear. I think that would be the only reason for dressing like that lol.
100 meters down the road is Mahadev Cave, as we have walked all this way we decided to give this a look although neither of us are fans of caves. It is dark and the steps are very wet and slippery. We are both glad when we find the exit!
We agree that we are both in need of a lassi and look for somewhere to stop but no where nearby looks inviting so have to wait until we get back to lakeside. By this time poor Ray is extremely red and worn out, so order coconut lassies and a plate of chips to replenish his salt intake. After this he seems much better. Ray needs a new hat as the one he has makes him too hot, to my surprise he chooses a baseball cap, he haggles with the young kid serving and agrees a price only to be ripped off with change, eventually he gets it sorted, even though the young kid told him to get lost at one point lol.
