Wednesday we moved rooms at the guest house, we are in the room we had originally booked, it has a bigger bed and over looks the veg garden and has view s of the mountains. Although we have a bigger bed the sheets are still to small, grateful for my sleeping bag liner to keep warm, it gets very cold at night.
We visited the Mountaineering Museum, it had a few more exhibits than when we visited nine years ago. The first section was about the different tribes on how they dressed and lived and many people are still living like this. The next was about the annapurna range how ot was formed followed by a section dedicated to climbing, it was facinating looking at the equipment that they used in the early days. The flora and fauna section was hilarious, the stuffed birds and animals were dreadful (see photos).
We saw our first road accident a guy on a bicycle went under a truck, he got up but was suffering concussion, we did not hang around as a big crowd was gathering. We had thought of cycling along this road ourselves today but this has put us off a little.
We see many astonishing sights on the road like a motorbike passenger carrying a 6ft mirror, or carrying a huge cupboard with his head inside. I never have my camera ready at the time.
There are many things I would like to photograph but it does not always seem right. I would not like people taking photos of me going about my everyday life.
There is much building work going on with Nepali women doing all the labouring, they amaze me as they are so petite but strong and wear flip flops for digging, walking up bamboo scaffolding and over rubble.
Yesterday we took a boat out on the lake, it is so tranquil, we will hire one for longer next time so we can have a picnic.
Yesterday had a little bit of retail therapy, finally found a hat that I liked also purchased a cardigan to cover arms as bare arms are frowned upon. In the evening I bought an Arteryx fleece for approx £15 ( I guess it must be fake lol).
Unfortunately Ray has discovered that some of the supermarkets sell sweets , I was trying to wean him off of them and biscuits.
