Today before breakfast we head straight to the boats for the Temple, for once there are not too many people around. The boat over was supposed to be 50 rupees each, but when we arrived the boatman demanded 100 rupees each. It was a case of pay up or swim back lol.
I would have liked to have taken lots of photos, but there is always someone in the way! There are lots of pigeons in all manner of shapes, sizes and colours, even a couple the colour of flamingos. I think that they may be used in sacrifice, but this morning and there is no holy man here. Food is thrown over the side to feed the fish and there are hundreds of large ones, we never see them any where else on the lake?
When we go for breakfast , we sit inside now, so as to avoid the holy men that come round with their little metal buckets amd tridents begging for money and stare at you for ages if you try and ignore them. The other , morning l did put a note in one guys bucket, but he did not seem impressed by the amount lol.
Today as l have my tab with me, l thought l would take a photo of one of them and give him some money, which I did, but as usual he wanted more, in fact he wanted more than my breakfast cost cheeky b*****!
Today we have to take the long walk up to the old bazaar area, to collect our bangles we are having made. I am a bit unsure as to what they will look like as things get lost in translation quite easily here. We take yet another route amd stumble on a super store that is very much like T K Max. Large stores are not common here. I do not think there is even a Mc donalds in the whole of Nepal!
We arrive at the little jewellery shed/ workshop to find that we have to come back in one hour, we trundle off and return only be to be told 20 mins followed by another. We keep waiting and the The guy here does not speak much English. It seems the jist of it is that there has been a long power cut and the bangles are not finished.Ray is about to leave when a man on a motorcycle turns up with them. I dread as they are unwrapped but to my surprise they are what we wanted yah.
