Today has been quite emotional as we said goodbye to all the staff who had helped us with the trek, cooked for us at camp, and transported our bags around the Himalayas. Last day of trekking. Although it's been mega tough and testing at times it's been so so amazing and the best experience ever!! I don't want it to end but will be glad of the rest at the end. Pretty much flat and down hill walks today with small inclines at times. Some very steep and sharp drops as well which were horrendously scary! Woke up this morning and felt dreadful. My cold has progressed into flu and I look and feel like death. All my bones are aching in a flu-ish kind of way, I'm all bunged up and my head is pounding, hot and cold moments....not great. So the leader has suggested I stay in bed and chill today instead of going on the 4hour walk. I really do wanna go but really don't feel up to it. I'm sure I will feel better after a bit more sleep. So it was the last night of sleeping in the freezing cold tent - and another early start of trekking. Sat in the back of a pick up truck that drove us 30mins away to our starting point in a little village. The ride there was very bumpy and is sure to have given me both bruises and whiplash. Last night was rough as the tents were freezing and i had hardly any sleep :(( today has been incredible though. Set off early at about 8:30am and trekked to a local school where the children were so happy to see us. They all wanted their picture taken and were all smiling and waving.
