Had a 2 and a half hour transfer from the train to the hotel. Stopped off first for breakfast which was jam toasts and chapati bread with potato inside and lime-pickle!! I LOVE lime-pickle....so curry for breakfast it was! The bus journey to the hotel was amazing. There were cow lay down in the middle of the road - india's sacred animal - so the cars and bikes were swerving road them as the cows just relaxed totally oblivious!! We also saw lots of monkeys running about at the side of the road as well as goats and a few sheep. 2500km above sea level at the moment and the views are amazing but a little hazy so haven't quite managed to get a perfect picture yet. The village we are in is called Larsa - populated mostly by the tibetan community. Once we were at the hotel the first thing I did was have my first shower of the trip - was well needed! Had a little browse round the Tibetan stalls with all the jewellery and scarves and ornaments. Currently at a mountain top cafe serving vegetarian Tibetan food. Was plain and simple but quite enjoyable. There are prayer flags waving in the breeze, incense burning in the street and Tibetan chants filling the air. It's wonderful and peaceful here. I love it! Off to the home of the Dalai Lama now - Namaste xx
