Today was the first proper trekking day however was only halve a day proper trekking and the rest of the day was gentle walking. Drove up the mountain to our trekking starting point and trekked up hill for an hour then back down hill. At the top of the peak the views were incredible and i was lucky to see an Indian griffin vulture soaring above me quite close. After our morning of trekking we visited another Tibetan monastery with an amazing gold Buddha inside. After a pasta and salad lunch we did some more walking through the local villages where I had an amazing cup of fresh lemon, honey and ginger tea, had my hand sucked & licked by a baby cow, and also bought two beautifully coloured blankets - for the new house :))!! one of the blankets is currently wrapped around me as it's half 5pm here now and the sun has set and the temperature has dropped. Loving every minute of India. The air is so fresh up in the hills and the trees and the wild life are beautiful. There are so many local dogs around the towns and villages and most of them are so friendly but often fight for attention. Sian's house - where we are currently staying - is a lovely place and she has a beautiful and friendly Alsatian called Sultan. Just waiting for our evening meal to be prepared then I will be having another early night before a full day of trekking tomorrow - because in the night you can here jackals barking and birds calling in the early morning. I am definitely benefitting from the ear plugs and eyeshade!!
Tonights evening meal was a selection of curries and chapatis and rice. For deserts it was spiced apple crumble and custard. Heaven!! In true Hazel style I have now eaten far too much and I am chilling out by the fire under the nights sky. Sweetdreams everyone. Love you all <3
Ps. Thank you for all the lovely comments. I can only read them when I have free wifi which won't be for 6days now. But I miss you and love you all. Special loves to my Emma :) xx
