It is incredibly hot here in Costa Rica! You will still get sweaty even if you just sit in an air conditioned house for 10 minutes. I am used to being sweaty all the time, at night it is slightly hot but nothing close to the day's burning sun. Almost every other day you can get burnt if you have really white skin. I usually tan, but occasionally I get one or two burns. Once I put my fingers and toes on this really hot chair for five minutes and then the next day my fingers and toes were burnt.
I only wear sunscreen when we go to the beach or when we go on a big walk or hike. Noah and mom are the whities of the family so they wear sunscreen way more often than me. Anyway, nobody likes putting sunscreen on and it is crazy expensive here.
I am definitely not a fan of being hot all the time, even in the middle of a rain storm it is warm outside. It seems to me, the only thing that is not hot here, is the refridgerator! I only wear long sleeve shirts at night, if I am wearing them in the day it usually means the air conditioning has been on to long.
It's very odd, but you can only see my brothers or my dad with a shirt on when we are at church or a restaurant, its SO HOT here! Most of the grocery stores here are okay with no shoes or shirts.
Even the ocean has warm water. Sometimes I feel like having ice water dumped right on my head, it just sounds so nice in this kind of weather. Where I come from, it doesn't snow, but it gets pretty cold. Don't get me started about the ocean in my homeland, its freezing! It is much easier getting use to the water here, where the water is warm. All you really have to do to get used to the water here is dunk your head for a second under the water and your good to go.
The cool thing about the hot weather here is that almost every house or hotel has a pool! I only get to swim like once every few months in California, so it's very nice to have so much more time to swim. It is always nice to be able to cool down in a swimming pool.
