I know what your thinking, what in the world is a langosta? A langosta is a 6 inch long grasshopper that flies. They have a reddish-brown color in the bottom of their wings and on the top of their wings they have a light green. Langosta's are creepy, jumpy and everywhere! They usually only come out at night, but if your lucky you will find one sleeping in the day. Langosta's are not rare at all, if you're out walking in the night you will definitely come across one. The creepy thing about them is that they have thorny spikes on the back of there legs for defense, if you try to pick them up then they will flick you with their spikes. At our condo, there are cats who catch the langostas, so there are tons of dead langosta parts all around the grounds near the pool. I am very afraid of langostas, once one landed on my face! Langostas are everywhere at night, somtimes when we are coming home from a resturaunt at night, we end up running through the halls of our condo building screaming to get to our condo. Langosta's have bad eye sight, tha'ts why they land on people, they'll land on anything they can find. I'm pretty sure langostas are only in Central America, but I may be wrong. I have only seen two baby langostas. Baby langostas are just like the adults, the only difference is they are an inch and a half long. Baby langostas have every feature the adults have, thorns on the back of their legs, black eyes, reddish-greenish wings, and antenas coming out from their heads. Langosta's are definitely creepy, I never imagened I would see something like a langosta in my life. Where I come from, California, there is no such thing as a langosta, I don't know if anybody even knows what they are in the States!
