Finally made it to the end of the week, and I'm just running on fumes now. Getting up early every day and attempting to stay awake through long demonstrations has proved increasingly difficult. Especially when I'm at school for 13 hours a day. Still, next week I'm finishing at 4 everyday, so I might actually get some other stuff done in and around LA.
Today was very easy in comparison to the past few days where we were given a demo on a typical bridal make-up, which we were told we could charge a load for...
Back to being in the chair first today, I was with Crystal, who was again more interested in the special effects and character section of the course, than the beauty makeup we've been doing. The job she did as great, and I'm sure if I was actually getting married, the groom would be very impressed. I had a go next, and managed to do a good job on the eyes, according to Mireille, and it was actually the first time I'd got her to check my attempt and was told it's finished. Usually this takes 5 or 6 reviews.
We were told that the next week would be airbrushing with a different tutor, Nelly Recchia. (http://www.nellyrecchia.com) I've had a look at her previous work, and it's incredible. Really looking forward to it, as well as finishng at a proper time.
Last sculpt lesson was tonight too. It's nowhere near finished, but I intend on working on it over the next week after school (possibly) and eventually I'll bring it back to the apartment and continue sculpting on any free time I get. It's very relaxing. By the way, if anyone is willing to lend me a ton of money so I can afford the postage to get it back to the UK, it'd be extremely appreciated. Its very heavy.
When I was finished, and said my goodbye's to the legend Jim Kagel, I met up with a few other classmates in the bar I'd been going to the past couple of weeks. Manya suggested a bar up by Silverlake on Sunset Junction. It was called the Red Lion Tavern. How could we not go there? It was a bit odd, and nothing like home. As it transpires, it was a German themed bar and all the beers were German, as well as all the decor. Bizarre and slightly overcrowded, Laura drove us around looking for somewhere else to drink. We didn't find anywhere and decided as it was approximately 2 in the morning, we should probably just go home.
