I decided to take it easy today, considering it's the day of rest and everything, so went shopping... Not having a clue what to buy, and not bothering to check in the kitchen if there's a microwave or not, I came back with lots of fruit, some more sandwich fillings, a big bag of crisps and several pots of 25 cent Noodle Snacks (basically, rubbish Pot Noodles). I'll do some proper shopping next weekend...Then I waited around a few hours before venturing all of 15 minutes down the road to the Staple's Center where I was about to witness my first ever live Wrestling event... Summerslam 2011.
I didn't know quite what to expect; how it all happens, what I get to see that home viewers don't, the audience reactions etc. Despite being in front of some rather dumb people, the overall atmosphere was great. Tool guitarist Adam Jones kicking things off with his rendition of Star Spangled Banner was immense! Cee Lo Green's mid-event appearance was slightly ess thrilling, and most of the crowd went for yet more food. While I'm at it, how many different types of food can one person buy? What's wrong with the choice of burger or hot dog, and possibly a vegetarian alternative, and that's your lot? Why were there also nachos, ice creams, cookies, doughnuts, bagels etc., being piled up on top of said burgers and hot dogs (or a vegetarian alternative), to eat throughout the show? I was lucky enough to get a beer, after they told me my driving licence was not a valid form of ID. p****. Luckily, I found someone else less intelligent to serve me a beverage.
I'm not going into detail about the wrestling. Those that like it will have watched, or will be watching, it so I don't need to bore you. Overall, it was definitely worth it. Did I mention I was in the premier section with a nice comfy padded seat? Like I said, definitely worth it. I did manage to pick up a souvenir t-shirt too, which I'm sure I'll be wearing all the time from now on.
That's it for now. Early start tomorrow, getting ready for the shock that will be going back to school for the first time in 7 years. I'm hoping the sounds of the singing piano man, this time with the added accompaniment of the very disturbing heaving of another man vomiting outside my window, well send me off to sleep in no time...

Jamison Totally cool Dave, loving the blog post.. making me wish I was back home! I will just have to accept and enjoy the lovely England for now.. Never been to wrestling match before. But my dad took me to one of those insane car races as a child, that have engines so huge that you can see out the windscreen.. I think thats about on par with wrestling ! On another note, I did totally love Rick Flair, the great kubuki, and hulk hogan as a child, whilst listeing to "BACK IN BLACK" from AC/DC on "11" 24/7. Keep up the great blogging! Lovein it..
