This week is likely to be as busy as last week, if not more so, as I still have a week left of evening sculpting after the make-up class, and have a lot of homework to do during the next few days too. These blogs will get done, though will probably be a lot shorter.
Most of the day was spent discussing make-up used in TV and Film, and the best ways to get involved within the industry. After a demonstration of the kind of make-up used in TV, we had to replicate the style. It's pretty much the same as the classic style we did on our first attempt.
Today I was working with Laura, from Boston, who had previously worked for MAC Cosmetics, so it was hardly surprising she was very good at it. It seems as though everyone else, apart from maybe Arthur, is very good at it.
I was much faster today, getting my application time down to about 45 mins; much faster than the 2 hours it took me the first time around. Aparrently, by the end of the course we'll be able to do it in about twenty. I may need a bit more practice.
I got talking to Lee Joyner, the director of the school, who was keen to find out how I was finding it and whether or not I was enjoying it too. Being that I've never worn make-up before, let alone apply it to someone else, I explained it's been quite a bizarre experience so far, but that I'm looking forward to the rest of the course, as well as the other courses. Mireille jumped into the conversation and added that I'm actually rather good at it, which was nice of her.
I should have maybe done some homework in the two hours before the sculpting, but I really needed some kind of alcoholic refreshment, so I still haven't done any; much like school used to be.
In tonight's sculpt session, I spent the time refining the facial features of my maquette, and adding in a few more subtle details.
Nothing unusual has happened today, hence such a boring post. Even the bus journey back was fine. Maybe tomorrow I'll witness a drive-by or something and I can write about that...
