Today was an action-packed day! I woke up early and went on an adventure to get my backpack unlocked (finally) and go shopping for all the rest of my presents for people and get cool street art in Piazza Navona. First I stopped at a store on the corner that appears to sell literally everything you could ever need. I approach the woman at the counter who was a small Asian women who spoke no English. Knowing little Italian, I stumbled my way through asking her for help to cut my lock off. It took us about 20 minutes and trying several different methods, but she finally was able to clamp it off using two pairs of pliers! I wish I could have kept it for evidence of just how hard the struggle was but she threw it away. She didn't ask for any payment for her help so I bought some magnets as a thank you and headed on my merry way. I then headed out to go shopping. I stopped at every tourist store between our apartment and the piazza, and crossed just about everything off my list! I had enough time to run home and drop off all the things I had just purchased, so I ran home, dropped off my things, trekked to school and grabbed a quick sandwich across the street then headed to class. After class a bunch of us decided to finally go to this place called Eataly which is a huge grocery store/super center located one train station away. We enjoyed ourselves way too much and had a little too much fun, then finally headed home with cookbooks and groceries (at 10pm, woops!) to make dinner together in our apartment. We made some yummy pesto with chicken and bonded as roomies. The four other roommates had to study for an Italian exam, so I wrote a paper for cinema and took it easy. It was a long day, but so fun!
