Today was a very long day.
We woke up early and went grocery chopping before class to begin saving money on food -- 20 euro each got us breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the week, so much better than retaraunts! We then headed to school, but our tram got stopped due to a teacher's strike in the road, and it sent us backwards before letting us off, so we then had to walk to class and were late. We went to Cinema, and then headed home to change to get ready to see the colliseum. Due to the strike, we couldn't take the tram or bus and had to walk all the way there. We of course, got lost, and it took us an hour and 15 minutes to get there. To make things worse, it was raining. I then got separated from our group and was stranded and alone in the middle of Rome. After a few phone calls and a few tears, I was reunited with the group, only to be at the colliseum for 15 minutes, missed the tour, was in the rain and we hardly got to enjoy it. We headed home after eating dinner (first real italian pizza I've had! Sooooo yummy!) and have enjoyed a nice girl's night in our appartment.
Due to the less-than-ideal series of events, I only took a few pictures. We plan to go back to actually see it and enjoy it, so I will take plenty more at that time and share. Feel free to check out the ones I took, though! I added them to the Rome album.
Hope everyone's night went a little better than mine!
Buonasera,
Carla
