Before packing up to leave our campsite at Torbay Inlet today, Gadi went out in the kayak in this beautiful little spot, heading downstream to where the inlet comes out at the beach.
At midday we headed off further west to stay at a private farm a few kilometers out of Northcliffe called Sid's Campground. What a fabulous spot this is, with free range camping on a lovely property with quirky toilets (old fashioned 'pull the chain' and roof made of a ute canopy), hot showers and a great camp kitchen. Best of all Sid is a generous camp host and he provides free firewood for a communal fire - both outside and in a coonara heater in the kitchen.
After setting up we enjoyed a drink and chat with some other travellers fireside in the late afternoon sun and then, as the darkness of night settled around us, we decided we might as well cook our dinner of salmon, fresh corn on the cob and sweet potato in foil packages straight in the coals - no washing up!
It was hard to leave the glowing flames and warmth of the fire, but eventually we headed inside to hop into bed and watch a movie.
Night night xx
