In "The Sweet Life In Paris," David Lebovitz (American chef who lives in Paris) wrote about the best hot chocolate in Paris at Patisserie Viennoise. He said that the famous Angelina was good, but he liked the darker, not-so-sweet brew at Patisserie Viennoise. So, we just had to try it. Finding the narrow street, Rue de l'Ecole de Medicine, on the border of St-Germaine and The Latin Quarter was not so easy. But we found it and the tiny, very old patisserie. At 3:00 in the afternoon, we got a table right away and we ordered 2 cups of the chocolat chaud with whipped cream and shared an apple strudel. The strudel was good and the hot chocolate was very good- not as sweet, as thick, or as heavy-in-the-stomach as Angelina's.

We hope to get back to Angelina's once more before we fly home on Saturday.
Adieu,
R&S
