Yesterday evening, we attended a one-man show, "How To Become Parisian In One Hour". It's a satire and it's hilarious. Olivier Giraud, the writer, performer, and producer of the show brought the all-English show to life, despite everybody telling him it would fail. Well the show has been running for 3 months and has been selling-out for most performances. It is attended by both Parisians and non-Parisians.
The idea of the show is to explain how to act Parisian in restaurants, stores, clubs, the Metro (subway) and even when making love. He instructs you in the right words, guttural sounds, facial expressions, gestures, and attitudes, all the while making fun of Parisians, Americans, British, and Africans (but, mostly Parisians) through stereotypes and exaggerations. What a scream! And, all in the very intimate, very old, heavily red velvet Theatre Des Nouveautes, having about 500 to 600 seats. If you get to Paris, or if Olivier brings his show to the USA, we highly recommend it!
Bonsoir,
R&S
