Today, being Sunday, the outdoor markets of Paris are buzzing. We understand that the Bastille Market, just around the corner from us, is the biggest in the city. Parisians, love the fresh fruits, vegetables, bread, fish, meat, nuts & grains, and prepared food of many nationalities. We bought some luscious fruits and vegetables and, of course, an ultra-fresh baguette. We ate breakfast standing and walking: Renee had a pannini with prosciutto and provolone, while Steve had a cafe express (French version of espresso) and a chocolate croissant.
We've heard and read about several other outdoor markets in other neighborhoods that have their specialties-- one for its atmosphere (Rue Mouffetard), one for its flea market (Le Marche aux Puces de la Porte de Vanves), and one for its art (Le Marche de la Creation Edgar Quinet). We love these kind of places and they are definitely on our agenda!
Adieu et Ciao,
