It looks like a common supermarket shelf, but at the MonoP in Paris, everything is in French. For non-French speakers, figuring out which milk to choose (whole or .5%; they don't have skim, 1%, or 2%), which butter or even the word ("beurre") and packaging for butter, which yogurt, etc., etc. can be difficult. It takes a lot longer at this tiny mini-supermarket. The other day, Steve stopped in at the largest supermaket called "MonoPrix", and it wasn't much bigger than the MonoP, except it has inexpensive clothing, and other stuff, sort of like K-Mart. None of them are anything like the giant supermarkets back home in the US. Part of the fun for us is learning to navigate through these little challenges. Within a few days, we'll be old pros.
