Round the world in 150 days
Breakfast with Eiji the Middle-of-the-night-Yoga-ing Japanee and a frenchman who listens to reggae and drives a ferry called Julian. Eiji gives me a fruit that grows in Japan that i've never eaten before. I can't remember the name but it was orange with a belly button. The size of an apricot. Julian says that mountaineers carry 1kg of Honey and some condensed milk which, energy and nutrient wise, is equivalent to 35kgs of normal food.
The morning is spent walking on a concrete path beside the road but the good thing about concrete is that i get to watch the stunning river without having to keep my eyes on the path. There are rapids and trees that are getting ready for summer.
Later in the day, i meet a spanish man called Fernando who is about dads age. I sat on a small canal thing with my feet in the ICE cold water running down from the mountains.
At O Cebreiro, I run into the Amsterdamians and Yoshi and have dinner with Andrea the italian and some spaniards. One is a stunning man who is probably prettier than his girlfriend. I have an almond torte for dessert and couldn't finish it. He says to me 'Next time, try to finish it. Next time'. I'm quite shocked at this remark and wonder whether i have broken some spanish rule about eating all of your food (A question for my Spanish Liaison, Manuel, on spanish food-finishing etiquette). Later, i realise that this guy is quite nice and that MAYBE he didn't really understand what he was saying, or didn't mean it the way it came out. Not really a big deal but probably a bit forward for someone who you just met. Perhaps it's extremely rude here not to finish your food but i have to ask, what if i'm not hungry?
A cold shower again. Eww it's horrible after a hard day of walking. It usually happens on the hardest days too
