Round the world in 150 days
This day i walk for a while talking to a Swedish man around dad's age called Tony. We walk to a town only 9kms away and i go to the net in an Albergue. I look outside and decide that i like this Albergue and that i'll have a lazy day. It's a cool Albergue owned by a guy called juanjo (juan jose, prounounced wanho). He has books on Art and the place has a really good feel about it. It's my favourite Albergue so far and juanjo says 'for today, mi casa es su casa'.
There was this Crazy Cuban there. I have no idea what his name was and i don't even know what he was doing there. Maybe he just hangs out with Juanjo but Juanjo just seemed to go about his work and stop for the odd chat while the crazy cuban sat around the entire afternoon doing nothing. He could not say 's'. I told him a word in english and he couldn't say it. And every spanish word he said was missing the 's' too, so i had absolutely NO IDEA what the guy was saying.
There was an awesome ruined castle in this town at the top of the hill and the views were spectacular. I went up there with an Australian guy and a really annoying Pom who didn't stop talking. He said something really annoying whilst perched on the edge of a steep drop on the top of the castle and I had a brief, evil Ally Mcbeal moment where i give him a boot in the back and push him off the edge. This made me giggle.
Later on, i somehow manage to be eating dinner with the Pom and he turns out to be not so bad, just a bit insecure so he talks it up all the Tom (whoops, freudian slip).
Breakfast in the morning at the bar allows me to observe people drinking shots of hard liquor and beer with their coffee before work (or in the case of the cuban.. who knows).
