As today was our second day of having a car we decided to head south west. Our visit was to Hextable, this is where Shelley lived as a child for 2 years some 45 years ago. Amazingly her old house was still the same and the elderly man who opened the door was the man who purchased the house off her parents!!! After reminiscing and a bit of a walk around we went for lunch at Shelley's dads old pub, this was our first real country pub full of locals and you could tell this just by how relaxed everyone acts.
Our final destination was Dover, this is where a lot of ferries and cruise ships dock. For good reason as this is also where the white cliffs of Dover are found! The view coming in on the highway is absolutely amazing the huge town and port under the massive cliffs is breathtaking to look at. We headed off up to the fort and castle above the cliffs, it was really well looked after and offered great views of the town, cliffs and ocean.
We headed back to London after this and went and found a Mexican restaraunt for dinner. After food Chelsea had to say goodbye to her family as they were leaving early the next morning, it worked well because we were in the subway so it was quick goodbyes no prolonging the agony.
