Game day 5 for Canada, as they have already qualified for the quarters this game was really just to try to improve the team they will be playing. Unfortunately from the word go they were in trouble I think it was 13 to 0 in about the first 5 minutes, they crept back for the entire game and eventually got within 2! They just couldn't get any closer and Australia pushed away again and when the buzzer went they were down. It is not ideal but now Canada will play America in the first quarter, after the game Alex and I watched America play china and boy do they play fast paced basketball! If the girls want to win they won't want to make any mistakes at all!
Did I mention this last game was against Australia? No I don't think I did! Alex and I got court side tickets right in the Aussie corner, they sung every known Australian jingle you can think of, and there I was sitting there in my Canada shirt, tie and silly hat (Thanks Virg and Steph) cheering on the Canadians. I feel like I made the right choice though, when I wasn't in the stadium I was also wearing my Aussie beanie as well.
Earlier in the day we went to the Churchill war rooms, these were the private war rooms of Winston Churchill during world war 2. They had all of the important meetings here and also had room for people to sleep and eat. The area was directly below number 10 downing street and had a 2 meter thick reinforced concrete roof to withstand attack from large bombs etc. A lot of history exists in these rooms and was well worth the look. It was Alex's birthday today so we went out for dinner it had to be in the mall again as Chelsea didn't have time to travel elsewhere, tgi Fridays was not very good! There burger was quite enjoyable I guess but there dinks were really weak.
