Aaahhh, Saturday's. Doesn't really matter where I am in the world but I seem to revert to the same practice wherever I am. After lunch Aliette went for a siesta and I headed to Bar Rio for the cycling. That was around 3pm. The cycling finished and I headed outside in disgust with an Englishman, a Scotsman and an irish hockey player (this isn't a joke). Aliette joined us and then went to mass. I was about to join her and then the Brazilians turned up. Another couple of rounds passed and then Pepe turned up. Basically, I became a resident at Bar Rio for the day.
No issue getting to sleep last night. Three bed room with a private bathroom the size of a small country. Nothing to do with the beverages consumed but we decided to have a proper lie in and eventually departed for Serria around 7.30.
Two options on the route front this morning : short route but with a stiff climb or long route via Samos but flat. We went for the flat option and I'm not sure that it was the right choice. Samos has one of the first monasteries in Spain which is what swung it (plus I wanted a photo of the sign 'SAMOS' for my friend Samo...)
Being a Sunday there wasn't much open so we had to wait until samos for our breakfast. Aliette wanted eggs benedictine monks - the owner of the cafe didn't share our amusement.
Bit if a schleck to Sarria. Finally arrived to our albergue, A Pedra, which is great and both of us are currently strewn across sun loungers in the back garden.
Saturdays are meant for drinking beer, Sunday is for lounging
