Woke this morning with an all too familiar pain. My head due to the amount of Albarino and Rioja consumed last night.
Hangovers in place we set about consuming our body weight in food at breakfast before heading off to the police station. I did mentioned that in Portomarin the police had been helpful. I request that this comment be stricken from the records as it turns out that they were just lazy. I did wonder why they wanted to see my insurance documents but it transpires that this is one way out of completing paperwork !
After the cop shop we went to the pilgrims mass at the cathedral. All the nations and cities of pilgrims are read out at mass - only one English !
We then decided to visit Cidade da Cultura de Galicia as It looked to be an incredible piece of modern architecture. I was surprised why there wasn't more made of this place and then, when we arrived I realised why. Originally planned for 7 buildings including an opera house, central library and museum there now stands 4 and a quarter. The euros ran out and so building stopped - very sad.
The weather has completely changed and this afternoon I got to experience what walking in flip flops during rain would have been like. Not nice and I am really thankful that we had good weather for the Camino.
Tonight we take the train hotel to Madrid and then back to blighty to return to normal life and footwear.
