We are in the home stretch. Today's stage from Sarria to Portomarín will leave us with less than 100km to go.
Tonight we are going with the masses and staying in a Xunta, one of Galicia's municipal albergues. Bona the native American, Lucy, Obelix and the brazilians are all staying here. Whilst we are in line we get two warnings about how cramped it is which we choose to ignore .... error !
We are in B Wing. Lights out 22.00. Yes, this is as close to prison as I pray I'll ever get. Our dorm is roughly 30ft x 15ft. Somehow they have got 40 beds into this space (20 bunks). I feel like a battery hen.
Aliette returns from the showers. She is not a happy camper. In fact she is angry, fuming even. The showers have no doors, barely any water, no where to hang your clothes and they are packed. Apparently there were naked girls wall to wall - 160 beds, 4 showers.
Unfortunately the showers are not mixed and so I have a different crowd. Some hairy ape groping his ball bag staring at me whilst I'm trying to wash my hair.
We go for lunch and spend the whole time booking places for the rest of the week. We can't do another night of porridge.
