Childers has a lovely main street but everything else is very run down and feral. There was no sites available at the caravan parks because of the overload of backpackers to the area. Sadly said goodbye to our ensuite site at Fraser Lodge Caravan Park and went on a job hunt. First stop Childers. Visited a tomatoe packing shed (submitted resume as per picture) avocado packing shed, contacted several labour hire companies and spoke with three orchard farmers but still no luck. Had an awesome sleep in, then off to dine on crackly bacon, eggs, crunchy toast, juicy fruit salad and a perfect hot coffee in Janine and Shonas villa. Up at 5.30am this morning with Shona and Janine to catch the Kingfisher Bay vehicle ferry to Fraser Island. It was very foggy with visibility around 2.03.... When we got to Fraser when deflated our tyres to 20psi then hit the sand tracks. First stop was Lake Mackenzie with gorgeous crystal clear water with shades of aqua.
