Goood afternoon my darlings! I must say, I had a pretty fun day yesterday and so, naturally, I'ev come here to tell you all about it!
There was a fair bit going on in school the past week; the grade above us were doing this thing for P.D. where they each had to look after a doll for the week, as if it were a baby, and on the Friday they had a kind of bake sale event to do so they all had to choose someone from the grade below to look after their child for the day. My friend Welinton chose me, and so for that day I became the mother of Shavo the doll-child! We had to be holding them all the time, which included through lessons, although during the first two lessons everyone was so excited about having these 'babies' to look after that the teachers just let us get on and chat and 'feed' them and change them, which would have been fun if it weren't for the fact that everyone bullied Shavo! To be fair, he *did* have pretty scary looking bright blue eyes and was kinda creepy, but that's no excuse for calling him Chucky and hitting hi repeatedly!! I hope they don't do that with real children when they're older...
It was really fun at break coz of the bake sale thing, which basically involved the year above us not baking anything bu buying cakes, pizzas and lasagnes etc. and then selling those to the students. I bought brownie for a friend in my class whose birthday is today, and I hung out with the baby-daddy and generally had fun! One thing that did bother me was that looking after the fake baby reminded me a bit of looking after my cousins, so I was really missing my family a bit yesterday, but today I had a nice video call with some family and I got to see two of my cousins again which was really lovely, so I felt a lot better after that.
Now today and on Monday are the birthday of two girls in my class, so yesterday during the last lesson of the day we got crisps and drinks and cake etc. and threw them a birthday party in school! I think it's really sweet how they do that, this is the second in-school party we've had for people in my class and you just don't really have that in England, probably because unlike here not everyone is friends with everyone and therefore willing to put money towards one. The two girls whose birthdays it was are called Anabel and Nancy, and they are best friends do at the party, Nancy stood up and gave a small speech she'd written about how much Anabel meant to her and stuff about their friendship; both of them were crying loads through it all and a lot of the girls watching were crying too at that point, and it made me think a lot about one of my best friends in England, Scarlett, and how much I missed her. It didn't help that Nancy and Anabel really reminded me of me and Scarlett in the way they were, their personalities, even kind of how they look it's like they are the Dominican equivalent! But anyway, despite all the emotion and missing people it was a very good day
That's about all for now, as I don't have any new pictures of me for you I'll put one of a graduation party I was at on Wednesday, which involved a lot of Spanish karaoke and fun! Until next time!!
