So, today we are both keeping with and breaking with various traditions. I can't promise you it's going to be interesting, but at least it's some sort of insight into the life I'm leading over here.

First of all, we are keeping with the tradition of cancelling every potentially exciting thing coming up, and my contact from AFS messaged me to say that she was ill and we'd have to do it another, though of course I didn't find this out until I was well on my way to meet up with her, as is always the way. Instead of going to meet her, I ended up going with Jenny to the hairdressers (You should have SEEN that place! It was lovely but I swear, you could that the air was practically full of hairspray, it was insane!) and meeting up with an ex of hers, and now they have both decided that it would be a great idea to set me up with her ex's 17 year old son. Mum, dad, I know I promised not to come back married, but I have a feeling they're not gonna make that easy. Along with that, I also saw a load of people advertising something dressed as superheroes, my favourite being, as Jenny put it, Black Superman! I've used his as the picture for todays post.

The breaking with tradition I referred to was in terms of school; Instead of the pointless wearing our PE kits for the sole purpose of learning about or playing chess, we actually did something PHYSICAL in our PE lesson today! After break, our class merely stayed outside, the teacher joined us, and we ended up playing a version of volleyball; the whole class stood in a big circle and it was just trying to see how long we could keep hitting it with breaks. Similarities to sports in England: I still sucked at it. Differences: The heat was overwhelming, I don't get how they can stand out there and just be so chill with the fact that the sun should be frazzling them like a marshmallow! Truth be told, I preferred the chess. I could actually do well at that...

It's getting kind of late over here, and I have a lovely day of school ahead tomorrow so I should probably sleep. Promise to keep you all updated!
