I'm writing this a day late, so it's going to be pretty brief.
As usual we got up and had breakfast, and by the time we had faffed about and got our stuff together we went to go and find waves about 10ish. We decided to go somewhere new, a break on the south east coast called 'Green Bowl', which an English mate from Leggies told us about.
It was a stinking hot day, and clear blue skies from first thing, so it was really nice to zip along in the breeze on the scooters. On the way we found a cool little quarry to take a 'scooter crew' photo, then carried on the Green Bowl. It was a beautiful place, high cliffs lined with trees and undergrowth, down to a bright sandy beach with a reef all around the outside.
The surf was pretty average, about 3ft with the occasional bigger set, but not many were breaking that well. It was more like a Canggu style reef with a lot of water on it due to the tide, making the waves slower and more crumbly. It was an awesome scenic spot though and the views from the lineup were amazing.
I got out the water earlier than the others as I was over it due to the surf becoming completely crap with the high tide, and had to climb the 400 or so steps to the top of the cliff.
When the others met me up there we sat and had a few drinks to replenish the imminent dehydration, then headed down to Nusa Dua, Geger Beach, for lunch. We went there in the hope of having a second surf, but when we had finished eating no one was game.
Then, similarly to the day with Wesley, Maurice and Bo, the weather broke. Within 20 minutes it went from clear skies and beautiful sunshine, to monsoon rain and black skies.
It took an eventful 30 minute scooter ride through floods and torrential rain to get back to Leggies. We then just chilled out for the rest of the afternoon reading books etc, and the weather completely cleared not long after we were back.
For dinner we went down to Bingin Beach, and had the seafood BBQ and Bintangs in a beach front shack. The food was great, and had put us in the mood, so we came back up to Leggies and played 's***head' like old academy days, while knocking back more beers. About 12 Dan, Dave and Charlie crashed, leaving E-Man and myself chatting on the balcony chatting away over some midnight snacks until sometime after 1am.
(Photo - It was all a bit much for Dan, who conked out in the middle of the afternoon!).
