So I woke up this morning about 7:30ish, my ear infection is much better and almost gone which is great. However my knee is still b*****ed, and I can't walk properly...Yaaay. Its going to be a massive inconvenience whatever I want to do with the others today.
I led in bed for a while just messing about on my phone, then got up and had breakfast. The other 2 were still asleep, so I decided to go off and check out the surrounding area a bit and the beach. What I hadn't banked on was having to go down a huge number of dodgey steps down the cliff to get to the beach. It was cool to get down there and fake some photos etc. There were a couple of small waves around, but nothing to spectacular so watching the others out wasn't too bad.
By the time I had hobbled back the other 2 were STILL asleep, so I rewaxed my surf board, which I had been meaning to do for a while. They eventually woke up about mid day, by which time I was hungry again, and we had lunch.
Wesley was busy sorting out his brother and his girlfriend with a new place to stay for a few hours, so Elizabeth and I went off to Padang Padang Beach. It was her last day in Bali, and wanted to get some sun, so was really glad when the weather parted and we got some sunny weather.
Unfortunately the tide was right in so there wasn't much space on Padang Padang beach to fit all the people, and it wasn't that nice being boxed in. We decided to off to another place called Balangan Beach, which was about 15 minute away and proved to be far nicer. We had a really nice afternoon just laying in the sun a bit chatting and swimming (which was good as I hadn't been in the water for so long with my ear). There were also lots of really cool wooden beach shacks at the top of the beach, so we had a few drinks while watching people surf out the front.
Wesley had gone off with his brother and his girlfriend somewhere to give his brother his first lesson surfing, do Elizabeth and I went back to where we were staying to meet them there. We had heaps of time to kill, so went down the cliffs again to Bingin Beach (which also has loads of beach shacks doing food) to get a snack and a beer whilst watching a beautiful Sunset.
When Wesley and his brother got back we decided to out to a nice little Italian place down the road for dinner. We had some brilliant food, and it turned out they didn't just specialise in Italian. We ordered everything from Pizzas, Sushi, Seafood and Balinese food!
It turned out Wesley's brother had brought him a mini care package of traditional Dutch Cheese and Red Whine, as well as a bottle of Whisky etc, and they invited us all round to where they were staying (1 min down the road) for the rest of the evening.
It was a really really nice evening chatting away finding all about each other etc, not to mention the luxury food and drink! It was about 2am by the time we got back to our place and went to bed.
