We're back in Broome, it's just too easy to stay here! Still camping with Lisa, Steve and Torah, we've developed a rather communal lifestyle, sharing the shopping and cooking, and cases of beer.
We checked out the dinasour footprints at Gantheume Point, hung out some more at Cable Beach, sampled some of the local cuisine, and dove into the pearl lugger history of Broome. We even got to handle a $180,000 pearl - surprisingly, Lee wouldn't buy it for Lea... The boys went fishing out on a boat, and caught us a few more golden trevally, plus a couple of sharks, so the freezers are still well stocked!
We've met up with the family we camped next to when we were in Jabiru, NT, the Boyds. As fate would have it, they had also met Steve, Lisa and Torah previously, so we've been having fun hanging out in a mob. Tam & Greg (the Boyds) have 3 kids, Jake, Alyssa & Sienna (who was only 9 weeks old when they hit the road - impressive!), and the kids are all cute as buttons.
Lisa's mum Mary has been visiting them for the last week and has joined in the beachgoing fun. On her second last night here she spoiled us with authentic Italian bolognese - yum!
The time has come to say farewell to this place, it's getting rather hot and sticky here, so we're heading south, along with Lisa, Steve and Torah. There are rumours of big fish being caught off the beach a few hundred kilometres south of here, so that's where we're headed first!
