Left Pemberton and spent the morning on the roads dodging crazy drivers - some of the worst driving we've witnessed in 8 months being on the road. How noone died that morning is beyond us.
Went and did the tree-top walk through the Valley of the Giants, in the soaring tingle forests that are only found in this region. The trees were over 40 metres high, it was a weird feeling walking through the canopy of the forest (especially as the walkway was quite flexible and swayed in the wind - Lea was hanging on for dear life at some points).
Raced across to Albany, as it was the only place we could find accommodation - like we said, you gotta love school holidays. Spent a couple of days noodling around the town, finally catching up with the Boyds again, plus seeing Wayne & Wytske from Cape Leveque, and checking out some spectacular coastline.
The rocks along the coast have been matched identically to rocks found in Antarctica, a reminder that we were once a much bigger continent.
The thermometer has taken a dramatic dive down since we left Pemberton, so we're back to wearing our winter woollies! Not quite the summer we were expecting, but we can't complain, we're on holidays, after all...
