Today we were heading off to catch up with mum's family in Ilok.

Before doing so we joined Barica in her daily ritual where at 7:30 am she walks 15 minutes into town to meet with her friends to enjoy a coffee and a chat. We were greeted with great enthusiasm with all the friends wanting to know more about us & one in particular who spoke excellent English & kept John entertained. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to pay for the round of morning coffees today, but left 50 Kuna with the owner for tomorrow's round. A coffee costs 6 Kuna which is just over $1.

After purchasing today's food, meat & Bread, we managed to return by 9am to have breakfast with Josipa, Barica & Sanja. We said our goodbye to Dražen this morning & to Josip last night.

We left quite sad at 11am after lots of hugs & kisses & promises to return in 2 years time. We love this family - they are kind, genuine & truly loving.

We arrived at Ilok not long before tea time. We enjoyed a light meal for dinner & had a few beers to refresh from the heat.
