Well, the rain fell steadily all night and we woke up today to a grey day along the dry Wooramel River. Today was a day for relaxing outside under the awning, starting with a late hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs and toast all cooked on the weber. Last night some backpackers staying nearby in the rest area were pretty rowdy but after Gadi yelled out, they quietened down. This morning we headed into Carnarvon, with its fields of cultivated bananas, corn, grapes and other crops. We left Exmouth and drive to Coral Bay, a couple of hours away on the opposite side of the peninsula. We had thought to stay a couple of days at a nearby low cost beach camp or one of the farm stations, but with recent rain, a lot of the dirt roads out here are in bad shape at the moment and we don't want to get stuck.
