After a hearty breakfast cooked for us (again) by our friend, she and I drove to an eastern Perth suburb to pick up a rug for her lounge. What a day! Rain, gale force winds and a severe storm without a stop all day long. The winds were unbelievable, around 110km an hour in some areas. We had loads of washing to do, in spite of the weather, in preparation for our trip up north. We braved putting the washing on the line, and despite the rain, we were surprised that most of the washing did dry on the line thanks to the wind. Left our lovely lakeside campsite really early (for us) this morning at 7.15 as we'd been told there would be peak hour traffic and roadworks on the way in to the eastern suburbs of Perth. The farmland scenery was breathtaking, with the low temperature bringing low lying fog together with the early morning sun rising on the horizon. We packed up this morning and left our idyllic farm campsite just outside of Margaret River and headed into town to see if we could get an engineer at the local steel factory to make our tow hitch shorter. They couldn't do it on the spot so we decided to leave it as is and check it when we get our caravan serviced in Perth tomorrow.
