Left our lovely lakeside campsite really early (for us) this morning at 7.15 as we'd been told there would be peak hour traffic and roadworks on the way in to the eastern suburbs of Perth.
The farmland scenery was breathtaking, with the low temperature bringing low lying fog together with the early morning sun rising on the horizon. The surrounding farms were shrouded in mist and it felt eerie as we drove by.
We made good time and arrived at the caravan dealer for our first service early, which gave us time to go over several issues and purchase some items in the shop.
The rest of the day was spent getting stuff done. By mid morning we were heading off to get some much needed coffee and breakfast and then we spent at least an hour on the phone trying to book Cadbury in for grooming. We must have called at least 20 businesses, who were all either booked out or didn't answer - so frustrating. We managed to get him a booking for later this afternoon - great!
We spent some time getting bits and pieces done and bought a few things we needed before stopping for a quick lunch. Then it was time to pick up our caravan, take Cadbury for his haircut and take the caravan to the weigh bridge - for our peace of mind.
Finally, as the sun sank low, we were all done and headed to the lovely beachside suburb of Cottesloe to stay with our friends who have moved from Melbourne. After backing (I should really say squeezing) our caravan in the dark into a very narrow driveway with a tree hazard making it a difficult job, we settled in for a beautiful homemade dinner cooked for us (very spoilt tonight!) and a chat until we were all too tired to keep our eyes open any longer.
We are cosied up in our little home on wheels, with the sound of the nearby ocean in the distance and a sea breeze keeping things cool. Tomorrow is supposed to be miserable, with storms, hail and gale force winds across Perth and the south west. I am very glad we are staying put in these weather conditions for a couple of days before we head off on our northern WA adventure.
Night night, sweet dreams xx
