This morning I woke up and took an absolutely freezing shower! I could barely get the conditioner out of my hair it was so cold. I had another yogurt and granola, which will probably be my breakfast unless otherwise specified (just so you know…I know some of you are very curious about what I've been eating). And again went to class. Apparently half of my class either moved up or down a level, because there are only 10 of us now in the class, but it's good because we are all starting to know and joke with each other, and we generally have the same knowledge of the Italian language.
During the pausa, Katy and I got espresso from a café across the way. We again had class until 12:15 and I went back to the apartment for lunch, again eating a salad with tuna and peppers, which I am definitely liking. Alex and Carson went to their class, so sara and I went to the coop to buy groceries. We were hoping the big supermarcato was open, but it was not. We bought SO much food the lady thought we were crazy. Let me pause to explain that grocery stores here in Perguia are meant for 6 skinny people to fit in. They are tiny little stores in a maze shape format. I bought sandwich meat for the first time! I bought mortedella, salume, and wound up with a block of provolone cheese, not sliced like I thought I asked for. Oh well, I'll have to work on those vocab words I suppose. We bought enough for all of us to have dinner tonight, and sara's friend Kirsten might join us! I am now back at the apartemento, clearly, and hope to finish my postcards and then go to surviving Italian at 3:15.
Until then, Angela
Postcards, done. As is surviving Italian. Sara, Karole, Katy and Kelley came home and we decided to walk around Perugia because there was a puppet festival. We walked around and took some picture, stopping for biscotti and coffee gelato, clearly. We got home and booked some of out vacation to Barcelona…we have a flight back, but not one there. So while they did that, I finished my Italian homework and then started dinner. I love cooking for my roommates…and it saves me from lots of dishes. I cooked wheat spaghetti with peas and red peppers in a home made ( by me!) alfredo sauce. Molto delicioso!
Sarah morales came over to use the internet and alex and I had a few glasses of wine, because sara, carson, katy, and karole went out. Sarah morales booked me a trip with them to cinqueterre soon! I am very excited to see what it is like there and so happy I get to go when it is still warm! After that, I talked to some people, and am now going to bed.
Ciao, Angela
p.s. soon I will post my thoughts and decriptions about Perugia
